Aleks Kopanja
Clinical Counsellor
Aleksandra (Aleks) is a Clinical Counsellor and ACA-accredited Clinical Supervisor with years of experience supporting clients through complex and challenging periods in their lives. She is registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) at Level 4 and holds a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Graduate Diploma in Counselling, and a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology).
Aleks takes a person-centred approach, offering a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where clients feel supported to explore their experiences and develop meaningful strategies for growth. She has worked with individuals presenting with a wide range of concerns, including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, alcohol and other drug (AOD) dependencies, and burnout
Aleks has experience in occupational rehabilitation, where she has supported individuals with adjustment difficulties, work-related stress, complex trauma, and psychological injury. As a SIRA-accredited practitioner, she is familiar with the intersection of mental health and workplace demands, and understands the barriers individuals may face in recovery and return-to-work planning.
Aleks draws from a range of evidence-based modalities tailored to each client’s needs, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Schema Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. She consults from the Moorebank and Campbelltown clinics.
